David Corelli is a rising star in the San Francisco District Attorney's office. He is assigned to investigate the murder of Louis Querida, a wealthy art dealer who was found dead in his home. The police quickly arrest Querida's business partner, Matt Gavin, but Corelli is not convinced that Gavin is guilty.
